Sound therapy is the therapeutic use of ambient sound and/or meditative compositions to facilitate effortless relaxation, deepen meditative states, invite self-discovery, and clear energetic/emotional blockages.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is sound therapy?

Sound therapy is the intentional use of resonant, meditative sound to ease the body into deep relaxation, deepen meditative states, and support gentle emotional release. Rather than asking you to quiet your mind by force, it uses sound as the doorway — so calm becomes something you receive rather than chase.

What kinds of sound therapy are there?

Sound therapy takes many forms — sound baths, sound meditations, sound journeys, one-on-one sessions, soundwave attunements, kirtan, chanting, vocal toning, and more. They share one thread: using sound and vibration, rather than effort, to invite a restful, receptive state. For a deeper look, read The Different Types of Sound Therapy: A Comprehensive Overview.

What can sound therapy do for me?

Sound therapy is a gentle way to release stress, make meditation feel accessible, and move through emotion with support — and a beautiful way to bring people together through group meditation. With skilled facilitation, ZEN Seraphine has helped many clients soften anxious feelings, reconnect with their sense of purpose, and release long-held tension through her one-on-one Integrative Sound Journey sessions.

Is sound therapy only effective in person?

Not at all — sound moves through us all the time, including the music we listen to. ZEN Seraphine offers a range of meditation-music recordings — crystal singing bowls and other sound-therapy instruments, plus violin and kora — to carry the effects of her sessions home. Her at-home sound-meditation membership, The Sound Medicine Path, is on the way.

Is sound therapy safe for everyone?

Sound therapy is gentle and well-tolerated by nearly everyone. The gentle exceptions are those with significant ear sensitivity, and some elders who’ve developed fluid in the ears with age. As a trauma-informed facilitator, ZEN Seraphine holds each session with care — and you’re always welcome to reach out with any concern before attending.

What does ZEN Seraphine offer?

She facilitates group sound baths, sound journeys, and immersive, multi-layered sound meditations for wellness studios, private clients, corporate wellness, and retreats. You can also enjoy her meditation-music recordings or her free sound meditations.

How can I learn to facilitate sound baths?

ZEN Seraphine teaches the craft through The Sound Alchemy Method. Her Level 1: CSB Practitioner Certification trains aspiring practitioners in the musical and trauma-informed foundations of leading crystal singing bowl sound baths.

Disease is a form of disharmony. And there’s no organ system in the body that’s not affected by sound, music, and vibration.
